Was macht True Image auf meinem PC ?

Thread needs solution

I want with True Image my PC to the NAS backup, but this not according to any plan, but exactly and only THEN when I want.

I also synchage the synch turned off (at least I mean) and I also do not want to do with the cloud.

You can stop and disable any of the ATI 2018 Services that are not wanted or used - only the Acronis Scheduler 2 service is required for your backups to the NAS.

See KB 60222: Acronis True Image 2018: teilweise deaktivieren Acronis Software automatisch mit dem Starten von Windows which has information on additional actions you can take.

thank you, Steve, for the translation and the answer !

I'll try it tomorrow and write here the experience made.

It’s always exactly the same – more than 2 minutes to wait before Power Off !!

I made some pictures of the different tabs of the Task Manager

Repeating what I wrote in my entry

I want to backup my PC with True Image to the NAS, but this not according to any plan, but exactly and only THEN when I want. And I want no controlling-Software working in the background !

By the way : I thought to have some support buying a piece of software – where is this support ?

As mentioned before, you can stop any Acronis services that are not required, so if you only want to do on-demand backups to your NAS, you can stop all services except the Acronis Scheduler2 Service which is always required.

Acronis Active Protection provides the anti-ransomware protection for your backup files but if you do not want to use this then this too can be set to Disabled in the Services console, but you should first turn off AAP using the GUI settings or the system tray icon option.

There isn't a specific KB document to describe all the 2018 services and processes as we had in earlier releases, i.e. see KB 56697: Acronis True Image 2016: Services and Processes (which was the last one published).

I stopped now all the 7 services - power off of the PC within 10 seconds and no more over 2 minutes.

And now I changed all these services and set the start-type from "automatic" to "manual"

That's perfect !

But I would expect to have such things in the options of the software !!

Thanks for the feedback, I can only suggest to submit Feedback on this issue to ask for options to be given within the settings pages instead of having to change Windows Services.

Feedback to whom ?

I sent my problem-description with the official feedback form. I received an automatic answer with the links to the FAQ, to the user-manual and to the support-FAQ

That's it - this is the support for a paid software! astonishing, that people use free-software? not really

The feedback tool in the main GUI goes to the Acronis team for review but there is no way of knowing what happens beyond that.  If you want a more official answer to your request then you will need to open a Support Case directly with Acronis Support and register this design/feature request in that way.

To be totally honest, the software isn't broken or malfunctioning here, it is just not working in the way that you expect it to work and doesn't provide configuration settings that you would like it to have.  Other users will have different expectations and requirements, perhaps quite different from yours or mine.

You're probably right, but generally I don't like unpredictable and untransparent actions of software
