Acronis True Image Disk Clone is makingweird unchangeable partitions

Thread needs solution

I have a 500GB SSD, and I want to clone it to my new 2TB SSD. The 500GB SSD is bootable, and consists of a 499.5GB boot partition, and a 500MB recovery partition. What I want is all of the 499.5GB in a single 2TB partition. What Acronis is forcing on me is a 499.5GB partition and a 1.5TB partition.

How do I force it into a single partition?

Greg, welcome to these public User Forums.

If your source drive has 2 partitions, then the cloned drive will also have 2 partitions because that is the whole purpose of a clone tool.

If you only want to have just one partition on the target drive, then you either need to remove the second (recovery) partition before starting the clone operation, or else make a Backup of the source drive, then Recover only the wanted partition to the larger drive.

Note: you would need to use a partition tool to remove the recovery partition. Download a copy of the free MiniTool Partition Wizard software which can do this for you.
