Backup Drive Full

Thread solved

I can't seem to find it,so I was wondering if there is a way to get the software to delete the previous backup before it starts a new one?  I backup once a week on a home computer and I dont save past versions.  The problem is that the backup is almost as large as the drive, so when a new backup starts, it fails for a lack of space.

Christopher, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but there is no option to delete backup files before creating a new backup file.  Acronis will always want to create a new backup file before it will delete an older one - this is to ensure that you are not left with no backup at all should the computer or disk drive fail before the new backup can complete successfully.

I would strongly recommend investing in a larger backup drive that can store more than just one backup - drives are relatively inexpensive these days and are very good value compared against the cost in time and anxiety in needing to rebuild a failed system.

You're right.  A 2TB drive isn't very expensive and a lot less than having to rebuild the system..  And, since it's only used one a week, it should last quite a while.  I'll get one today.  Thanks.
