Cannot Register Backup Agent in Ubuntu 20

Thread needs solution

I am helping a friend with an Ubuntu 20 setup from IONOS, This comes with a backup from Acronis. On installation of the agent, it stops at the point of registration saying that there is a firewall. On running obschecker, it shows this:

Can anyone help with what to do here? I have called IONOS over and over, doesn't seem like they know what the problem is.

Soul Searcher, welcome to these public User Forums.

If you are running this Ubuntu server on IONOS infrastructure then the results you posted above for the RPC Server ping results (100% packet loss) suggest that either the Ubuntu server is blocking these packets or else they are being blocked by the IONOS hosting service being used.

Regardless of the above, this forum is for Windows products from Acronis that do not run on Ubuntu and I doubt would even be able to run via Wine, which suggests that you are using an Acronis Business application or a Linux client for such an application.

You need to identify exactly what Acronis backup application is being used and then we may be able to direct you to a more appropriate forum for help.  Note: Acronis backup products are now all subscription based and you could contact Acronis directly for support if the product has been registered to an Acronis Account.  See 'How to get support' in the Useful Links section of all forum pages.

Hello!

From the logs, it appears that port 443 is closed.

Please refer to the following KB article, which provides a list of ports, and ensure that your environment is configured to accommodate them: https://kb.acronis.com/firewallsettings

Additionally, you can use the telnet command in Linux to check the connections.

If the issue persists and the ports are open, please raise a ticket with our support or contact your service provider (depending on the product you use) so that the issue can be troubleshooted.

Thanks in advance!
