According to https://kb.acronis.com/content/56634 the software will reboot into a rescue environment when you attempt to clone the system drive (in Windows) but this didn't happen for me. Cloning seemed successful.

Are the docs out of date?

Should the software have rebooted into a rescue environment?

Olaf, welcome to these User Forums.

Please see KB 61665: Acronis True Image 2019: Active Cloning in Windows - which describes the new ability in ATI 2019 & 2018 to perform cloning from within Windows (using the Microsoft VSS snapshot process).

They key tip when using Active Cloning is to ensure that the target drive for the clone does not already have a Windows OS installed on it.  If you are cloning to such a drive, then you should 'clean' the drive first - you can use Windows Disk Management to remove the existing drive volume.  If you don't do this, then a restart will be required even for Active Cloning.
