Dashboard shows 1 computer not registered, system thinks I already have 5 but one has a name change!

Thread needs solution

I have True Image 2019 x5, I also have 2018 x3

Because of this issue, I've made 2 new accounts and moved 2018 to one account and 2019 to the other account.

The problem is when I log into 2018 and click dashboard, I get 2019's dashboard, same as if I log into 2019 and click dashboard I get 2019's dashboard.

2019 dashboard only shows one computer, but I have 5 computers with 2019.  This one computer is a replacement of an old machine, it has a fresh install of windows 7 64bit Pro and TrueImage 2019 and it has a new name.

So I have two problems, I can not manage 2018 dashboard, can't get to it!  And 2019 shows the new computer but not the old 4 (5 counting the one being replaced) so that I can remove that 5th machine to register the new one!

In reading one of the other posts, I see I can remove the TrueImage and download and re-install it but what if I can't remove the name from this list I can't see???  Then that backup will die in 30 days!

Anyone know how to fix these issues??

Barry,  and thank you sir/ma'am for your help...

Barry, personally I do not use the Acronis Dashboard and actively take steps to prevent my systems from being registered with it!

Whether your systems show in the Dashboard or not should not have any impact on any of your backup tasks unless that is the only method you are using to manage the tasks?

The only method to make a clean start to my knowledge, is to turn off the Acronis Managed Machine Service Mini background Windows service, i.e. set it to either Manual or Disabled in the Services control panel.  This stops communication with the dashboard servers.

Then sign in to the Dashboard from your Acronis Account(s) and delete all the systems shown there.  The systems need to be shown as being offline before the option to delete is offered!

Once the dashboard itself is cleaned up, then ensure that you are signed in with the correct Acronis Account on each PC before restarting the MMSM background service again.

If the machine still doesn't show correctly, then you may need to perform a clean install of ATI to resolve that.  A clean install is a normal Windows uninstall followed by running the Acronis Cleanup tool to remove all residual data which includes all your backup tasks / configuration.  You would need to reinstall and reconfigure your tasks afterwards.

Thank you Steve, these steps would help with getting a system to show in the dashboard, and I'm grateful. Please, can you help me with either of these issues: 1st) seeing and/or removing the systems they think are registered?  Example:  in my list is pc1, pc2, pc3, pc4 which have not changed AND Israel which is now IsraelM2800.  I bought and rebuilt another laptop that replaced my old one.  Old one was called Israel, the new one is called IsraelM2800.  The old one does not need backup, things are taken from it, new one will be backed up so I want it registered for when I add a hard drive to it for backup.  any idea how to remove the old one from their list so I can replace with the new machine?  The 2nd) is similar, I click for the dashboard of my 2018 trueimage and I get the 2019 dashboard.  Dashboard not important, I just want to see and if need to, remove machine names no longer in existence.  2018 there is pc1, pc2 and Ruth, I want to remove Ruth because that was replaced by Moshe. yes I like my Hebrew names lol and actually I ended up using one of my 2019 seats for Moshe, I couldn't remove Ruth who is long gone.    Thank you Steve for your help sir!!!!

Barry, as mentioned above, provided any unwanted systems are shown as being offline, then you should be able to delete them from the dashboard.

Steve, they don't show in the dashboard.

What shows in the dashboard is ONLY, the new machines' name I've just added AND it won't register because the old machine name is still in Acronis's list, BUT does not show in the dashboard sir, only the new one shows.

Steve, I do know how to remove machines, but since they are not showing on the list, I can't select them to remove.

Any ideas sir?

Barry, if the old systems are not shown in the dashboard then how are you reaching the conclusion that those systems are in an Acronis list?  What list are you referring to and where?

I re-installed 2019 in my wife's computer.  During the registration process it said "too many machines for this license" and I clicked to log in.  There it showed me, different from the dashboard, my registered machines and the old name of her old computer showed, I deleted it and her new one then registered just fine.  But on that screen I saw all the other names BUT  I didn't pay attention and with mine I've not been able to get back to that screen.

I just found that screen I was talking about!  If the machine is NOT registered and acronis is saying there are too many machines on that license, then under the button that says "accounts" is a button to resolve the problem.  However, I just now replaced my old machine with my new one, but it still wants me to input the license number and when I click on account and show dashboard it only shows the new machine, not the other four names on the list it had up a minute ago.

Barry, if you are seeing "too many machines for this license" then you are looking at an activation issue that is unrelated to the dashboard.

See KB 61162: Acronis True Image 2019: "You've exceeded the maximum number of activations for this serial number" for help on resolving that issue.

Hi Steve, thank you for taking time trying to help me sir...

I've not over registered, I need to remove names from the list of old machines.  when moving a name, I can select and replace a name (I've done it twice now, so confident I can do that again) but I can't see the list except when exchanging one for another and I can't remove any (unless swapping them out)...  And here is a strange issue.  On that list, when I exchanged israel for the new IsraelM2800, I saw ruth twice on the list.  Ruth doesn't exist anymore, that name should be just Moshe and only once.

Barry, I now better understand where you are coming from here!  Unfortunately Acronis do not give any method of removing old registered systems or of managing the list of such systems for users who have perpetual licenses.   This is only possible for users with subscription licenses and then, only for the current subscribed application!

The 'list' as such is only visible when dealing with activation issues, i.e. moving a license from a defunct system to a new one.

The only people who might be able to help you remove any dead systems would be Acronis Support but I would guess that the front line support people would have no clue about how to do so!

Steve, thank you for spending the time you have trying to help me and in fact you have!

I've decided to make my own way using what tools you've helped me stumble in to, and I too will ignore the worthless dashboard!

on my old laptop, I'm going to install 2018, see what names are listed and write them down (not register because I don't need it but I'll have a list).  then uninstall and install 2019 and do the same.  Write down both the machine names and license numbers and links to the download software as well "if I can" and stay away from the dashboard there after.  It was supper convenient until it hung me out to dry!
