How do I restore multiple folders when restoring to an alternate location.

Thread needs solution

I am a long time user of ATI. So I think I know it pretty well. This is something that has bothered me for a long time and I have never found an explanation. When I want to restore one folder, I go the Recovery screen, I can navigate to the desired parent folder. If I select the one folder I want to restore and then Browse to an alternate location Acronis does not restore the selected folder. Instead it restores the CONTENTS of the selected folder. If I select TWO folders to restore to an alternate location the recovery fails with the error: "Recovery to D:\tmp\ failed due to an error. The specified file path does not exist" To me, Acronis is not doing what I am requesting. Why doesn't Acronis simply RESTORE those folder paths? I know I can create the folders with that name in the target directory and restore to that, but why does Acronis behave this way?

John, the recommended method is as described in KB 61620: Acronis True Image 2019: how to restore files from a backup (Windows) - which shows the steps needed.

This process should work providing you are selecting the correct items and are recovering these to the same target destination.

See the screen images below from a Folder recovery (3 folders) to a temp location (using ATI 2020) which shows that the process does work correctly (for me).
