How to modify (partially delete, update or split) existing 1.5 TB backup

Thread needs solution

Hi!

I made a mistake when copied all my files to the cloud as whole (it took a month). I do not have the copy at my premises. Now I need to delete some files, and update some other files. How to achieve it without downloading 1.5 TB of data and uploading it again? I have a very slow upstream channel (~15 Mbit/s).

May I create another backup using the cloud as a source?

enabokov how did you copy the files (did you archive them) in Acronis?

There is no way, that I'm aware of, to copy the existing files from one Acronis cloud location to another.

Most likely, you will need to recover them locally and try again if you have completley moved them offsite and need to make a modification.

Personally, I think the cloud is only useful for a secondary backup.  Original data should ideally be stored locally, backed up 1st locally (external USB drive, NAS or something like that) and then backed up as a secondary precaution to the cloud in case your original data and first backup fail (fire, theft, flood, total hardware failure, etc.)

Please also take a look at the rule of 3-2-1.  This should be the minimum backup scheme for any/all critical data for any backup plan... whether using Acronis, or something else.

When thinking about 3-2-1 backup planning and offsite backup, consider that the cloud is not the only option although everyone is pushing cloud backup these days.

I have a safe deposit box at the local bank. I use two offsite backup drives and periodically swap them to the offsite location at the bank.

Offsite backups were common before the cloud.

The Cloud is useful but for anything ULTRA critical I would also have physical off site copy. If it for a how system, use a USB 3 HDD to which you copy the important backups and store it in you desk draw at work. I did this before I retired (back then it may have been USB 2 HDD).
