Moved Backup file to another drive, now cannot restore of continue incremental any more
I did move my tib-files manually from one drive to another one (using windows file-exporer). The tib-files contain a file-backup, one full and some incrementals.
Now when i try to add that backup-set to ATI 2019 it fails... ATI 2019 does list the backup on the screen, but with the old drive letter. If i touch that backup in order to restore or to continue backup it gives an errormessage that the files were not found.
I am used to ATI2013... there i was able without any issue to move the backup-sets manually. How can i fix the problem with ATI 2019?

Basically that is what i did. Without success. I did now recreate the old disk, old location, in order to be able to continue.
Is there any safe way to include the backups into ATI2019 after moving them around? Any other suggestion? The files exist, they are valid and not corrupted.... there must be a way to use them?

Only if you have already removed the associated backup task from the ATI 2019 GUI panel before attempting to add them back again as existing backups.
The only other suggestion would be to force a rebuild of the database files to clean out all references to the original task and file locations.

Just to be sure that we mean the same thing:

With that you mean the second "column" of the GUI where the list of backups is listed, right beside the very left column with the buttons for Backup-Archiv-Sync....?
And the procedure would be to select the downarrow next to the list entry, choose delete, and then not to delete the whole backup but only the Settings from the GUI?

Correct! Removing the task from the GUI should also update the database to remove references to that task and the files it had created, so that there is no conflict with adding back files for a task that is still 'known' to the database.

There is reason to believe that in the most recent build of ATI 2019 removing the task does not fully remove information about the task from the data base. When I upgrade one of my PCs to 2020 beta it "reintroduced" backups that I had remove and for some of them had the date on which it was previously removed.

Ian, I have the feeling that Activity information is stored separately to the information in the database and perhaps removing the task is not cleaning the activity data for the task?

Steve, that is possible. However I have only seen this happen once, but it may be that it was not obvious prior to ATI 2020 beta which has the info symbol next to such tasks.

I can confirm that this is the case... attached there are 2 screenshots of ATI2019 (Backup list cleaned up, machine rebooted, and ATI 2019 started again).
After that i did add the backup (which is located on external disk) to the list and it did show up without issues, also showing all incremental versions. But when i did try to create a next incremental... Errormessage attached, it says that it was stopped, next trial 21:46, backup could not be started, and that i should connect the external drive which contains the files of the backup. But the drive was attached.
Maybe worth to mention: For the sake of speed i did build in a second internal HDD with which i did convert all incremental slizes from ATI2013 to ATI2019... which means i did restore each single version, one after the other, to my harddrive, and then did backup that version to a new set of backup files. The old and the new backup was located on this second additional HDD, and the drive to which the files were restored and from which they were backuped again was my original harddrive.
After doing all that, i did move the tib-files from that internal HDD to the external USB Drive. After his move the issue started.
I will now try the second proposal, rebuilding the database.... will report back.

Yes, rebuild of database folder did help...
I did follow the instructions in https://kb.acronis.com/content/60915 Method 1, .... and in the end i was unsecure if i know have to reboot the machine... i did not and started ATI 2019 again, then i did include the old backupset, this time it did not show up in the list of backups at all… the list was empty (also no "This computer" and no "Home" any more… see screenshot). Funny behaviour, but i did continue.
I did have to reconfigure the backup… (the message in the instructions says " The scheduled backup jobs are preserved and you do not need to reconfigure them. ") but still no entry in the list. I simply did continue, i did hit "Backup"…, and a new incremental was created within seconds. No errormessage any more.
After that i did restart ATI 2019 and now the backup did show up in the list.
Second test with second set… did appear in list of backups immediately. Also had to reconfigure that one. Did also work.
After that i closed ATI, did delete the newly created tib-files from the drives and did restart ATI and checked both backupsets for their versions… they both created errormessage that one version is missing, if i would hit "Ignore this version" it would use the version before. That is what i did, …. Because that is what i wanted. This last test-incremental was very small and for test purposes only. But this is the only way i know of, how to remove the last incremental version in a change from the backup set… there is no other way, right?
Also, i would have some remarks to the description to that procedure, from my side:

Do i have to restart services after that whole procedure or are they all automatically restarted? I was unsecure, i did not...

When checking the running Windows processes, the Tab Details does not have the Description column... one has to modify the columns which are displayed here in order to be able to see the correct information. Not sure if every user finds his way to that...

The navigation to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome: One can copy and paste the path into the path-display-line on the upper area in the windows file explorer, you do not have to switch display settings for hidden files. Once you copy and paste that into that adressline you will see content. Much easier.
I now have the Database folder, and also the Database.bak folder... if that is root-cause for this issue, is someone interested in their content?

If your tasks are shown in the ATI GUI, then use the new option introduced with ATI 2019 to 'Clean up versions' which will allow you to select the latest incremental file and delete it.
