Moving (copy and paste) Acronis backup file from the external hard drive it was backed.

Thread needs solution

I can't seem to find a clear answer to this question.

I'm using ATI 2019 on Windows 10 PC and use either Seagate or WD external drives

Can I Move (copy and paste) an Acronis backup file from the external hard drive it was backed up on to another hard drive. That way I would either have an additional copy of the backup or I could erase the initial backup from the first drive.

Clint, welcome to these public User Forums.

The simple answer is yes, you can copy your backup .tib files to another drive using normal Windows commands but you should first turn off Acronis Active Protection before attempting to do this, plus ensure you copy all associated files for each backup version chain you are doing this for.  A backup version chain comprises all the files using the same root name and same _b?_ sequence number.

Note: you should not move any backup files unless the ATI task that created them is no longer shown in the main ATI 2019 GUI panel.  For tasks shown in the panel, use the task drop-down menu and the Move option given there, which will both move the files to the new destination and update the internal database used by ATI to reflect the new location.
