Save backup configuration
Hi,
I am evaluating the Acronis TrueImage 2019 software. I did not found a feature I was looking for:
I want to backup the folder "D://Source" and save it to "E://Destination". I want to run this backup every week and keep only the latest 5 images. I was able to configure those settings in the backup options.
Is there a way to save this configuration somewhere? Exporting the backup configuration as an xml file or similar?
I do not want to create all backups plans again if I install a new PC or update TrueImage. I this feature only available in the enterprise software Acronis Backup?
Thank you in advance for your comments.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for your fast answer.
I was not obvious to me that the "Saving settings" button would also save the backup tasks. Good to know.
I tried to export the configuration and I looked at the generated `.cfg` files. I was not able to find all the information I was looking for in those files.
I did a simple experiment. I created two backups tasks with different backup strategies, exclusions, and scheduling. I ran those two tasks and then I saved the settings. I the generated cfg files, I was not able to see those tasks. For instance, I can only see the exclusion filters from the first task. The filters of the second tasks are not saved in any of those cfg files.
Furthermore, the `scheduling.cfg` contains encoded data and this looks bad to me. Are they any tool to create a backup task from a console tool? Is the format of those cfg files public? It is important for me to understand the content of those file to be sure my backup tasks are correct and that I can load them from any computer.
Is looks like the files I am looking for are the opt files stored in "C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database". In those files, I can see the source and destination folders, the correct exclusion filters, etc. Do you know more about those files?
Thank you.

The new option to Save settings to file is really intended only to be paired with the corresponding Import settings from file option, which should take care of saving and restoring your task configuration settings. The only thing that does not get saved when using these options is the task history, as shown on the Activity page in the GUI.
It is not recommended to touch or try modifying the Acronis Database files that you have found - these are used for Activity history and file tracking.
The only method that I am aware of that can save everything (apart from schedule information) would be to save the whole C:\Program Data\Acronis folder structure, but this has to be done either as part of a Disks & Partitions backup image, or else when all Acronis Services & Processes have been stopped / terminated, so as to avoid any locks on the files / folders in that path.
