Splitted backup - one corrupted .tib file breaks all backup or not?

Thread needs solution

Hi!

First of all, sorry for my poor English.

My question is - if I create splitted backup and one of .TIB files will be corrupted ( disk read error, modified by a virus, etc) - does it affects only on this .tib file or for all backup?

For example - if I backup 1TB of data, setup options to split backup by 10GB files and sometime later ..011.tib file is corrupted.  What will be with the whole backup?  Can I restore files from ...12 and later .tib files or not?

Yuri, if you are splitting a single backup image into say 10GB file segments and you lose one of those segments because of corruption, then as far as I understand the whole backup image would be lost.

If you have a backup version chain with a good Full backup file then a number of smaller Incremental backup files in the chain, if one of the Incremental files is corrupted, then the backup chain prior to that file would still be good for recovery, but not any files after the corrupt file.
