TI 2019 Win 10 Dell XPS15 9570 Laptop Warning after operation completion, OS will not boot... SOLVED
Dell XPS15 9570 Running Win10 with all updates. I have Acronis TI 2019 installed, and I created a bootable media using a 16GB USB stick. The only option available to boot from the USB in the Dell BIOS boot editor is 'LEGACY EXTERNAL DEVICE BOOT:' If I select this option the system will boot into the Rescue Media application, and then I can start the Disk Cloning process. However, then I get the warning about not being able to boot to the cloned OS.
Then I went back again and looked closely at the available options: Under the UEFI section were three items; the first two looked like OS partitions, but the third one was something that started with "583". On a lark I tried this option, and "LO AND BEHOLD" the system booted up into the Acronis app! And this time I didn't get the 'OS will not boot' warning - and the clone completed successfully.
So, how is the typical user supposed to know that the mystery line starting with "583" was actually the Acronis bootable media on the USB stick?
