True image recovery

Thread needs solution

I used to work with true image 16 and it worked fine also under win 10 - until recently. I tried to run an earlier version of C: and started the recovery. Everything seemed to work fine, but at the end, no image was recovered. I tried this several times with various earlier versions of C: The result was always the same. I tried the installed version of 16 as well as the emergency cd. Obviously my original C: was not deleted and the replacement version was not installed. I then got a trial version of True image 19 - still no change. As the trial version will run out in a few days I hesitate to buy the new True image version 19 as that might not work either. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Manfred, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but we will need more information to understand what is happening here?

What exactly are you trying to do, and how are you doing it?

The normal first action of any Recovery of a disk or partition is to wipe the target drive or partition in preparation for restoring the copy of the same from the backup image file, so if you believe that your original C: partition is not being changed at all, then something is not correct, or you are not picking the correct target drive to recover to?

It sounds like maybe he's trying to start the recovery in Windows and it's failing to load into the Linux environment, I'm really not sure.

Agree with Steve, we need some more details on how the restore is being started and what is being selected as the recovery options.

Would also be insterested in knowing if the working OS was Windows 7 or Windows 10 and if it was installed in legacy (MBR) mode or UEFI (GPT) mode.
