2020 keeping the computer awake ...

Thread needs solution

I'm using Acronis True Image 2020 with Win7 Pro 64 bit, and I think Acronis is keeping the machine in spite of the general power saving / sleep settings.

I'd like to be able to put the computer to sleep even if a backup is in progress, and let it resume the backup after a restart.

As it stands now, the computer runs all the time because (I think Acronis) is ignoring my request to put the computer to sleep, as in: Start->Shutdown->Sleep.

I didn't have this problem with the previous version of Acronis I was using. Any help appreciated, because it's a big computer drawing 400+ watts, and I don't want to be running it more than needed.

Charles, you need to configure the correct settings if you want any active backup task to be interrupted by the computer going to sleep or into hibernation - look on the Options > Schedule page then in the Advanced options settings at the lower half of the page.

My understanding is that the actual interrupted backup would fail in this circumstance then would start over again when you woke or resumed the computer from sleep or hibernation rather than continuing from the point where it was interrupted.

The default settings on the above page are to stop the computer from going to sleep or into hibernation while a backup is active.
