Acronis 2020 Painfully Slow to open, after repair/reinstall can not create backup

Thread needs solution

Hi, any suggestions please

Acronis True image 2020 was taking a long time to open, was sticking on the splash screen for an age, but then did work. I downloaded the program file and carrried out a repair but there was no change so I uninstalled it and reinstalled and am now unable to carry out any backup.

When creating a backup say "Disks and Partitions" it will let me select the source disk(s) but when I try to select the "Destination" beit MYCLOUD or the "Browse" option it changes to an opaque screen , cursor to a circle and says "please wait" This can be for half an hour plus and then do not get any further. If I select a "File Backup" I get presented with the C drive only and then can not select files.

Have tried repair/uninstalling/reinstalling several times.

Any simple suggestions!

Abernathy, welcome to these public User Forums.

Has anything changed on your computer recently since ATI 2020 was working normally?

When doing the Repair Install or clean Install, are you doing so from an Administrator level account (as required for the application to work correctly)?

Have you whitelisted the Acronis processes to your security applications?

Have you done a full shutdown and restart of Windows since this issue arose?  Press & hold a shift key when clicking on Shutdown to do a full shutdown.

See the following KB documents related to whitelisting:
