Acronis Backup from USB HDD to Internal

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I hope you can help me.
I'm trying to recover a PC armed with a tibx backup image on a partitioned USB HDD, and Restore Bootable Media Builder.
I tried to follow the guide, but after I try to boot from the USB the screen states "Operation System not found".

Is there a simple step by step guide somewhere please?

Something like a guide made for people who would have to get up very early in the morning and work very hard just to be an idiot?

John, welcome to these public User Forums.

I tried to follow the guide, but after I try to boot from the USB the screen states "Operation System not found".

From just the above information it suggests that you are using the Acronis Universal Restore media and not the required Acronis Rescue Media which is used to recover backup images.

See KB 63226: Acronis True Image 2020: how to create bootable media

KB 59877: Acronis True Image: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media

KB 63295: Acronis True Image 2020: How to restore your computer with WinPE-based or WinRE-based media

When doing the restore of your backup, this needs to be done as a Disk & Partition restore and at the top Disk selection level.

Please see forum topic: [How to] recover an entire disk backup - and in particular the attached PDF document which shows a step-by-step tutorial for doing this type of recovery / restore.

John,

Are you attempting to use an external drive on which you created a Survival Kit?
