Acronis TI to AWS3 - Possible

Thread needs solution

Is it possible to use Acronis True Image with AWS3 cloud storage or is True Image limited to using Acronis Cloud Backup?

I've seen that this is possible with other Acronis backup software, but I haven't seen any mention of using True Image in connection with non-Acronis cloud storage.

Currently using ATI 2020 Build 25700

Sorry ATI is restricted to being used directly only with the Acronis Cloud servers.

Hi,

It is not possible to use Acronis True Image with AWS cloud storage or is True Image limited to using Acronis Cloud Backup because it is restricted.

Acronis do not support backing up or recovering from any other cloud service than their own Acronis Cloud.

The only way to use with another cloud service such as AWS would be to backup to a local destination, i.e. second disk drive / external drive, then synchronise that drive to the AWS cloud using options provided by that service.  This can result in very large volumes of data being uploaded due to the way Acronis now store backups in .tibx files.

Acronis do not support backing up or recovering from any other cloud service than their own Acronis Cloud.

Acronis True Image 2021 — a perpetual license (one-time purchase) for local backup only. All editions are available as 1, 3 and 5 machines licenses. Each license can be used for installing Acronis True Image on Windows or Mac.

I would like to use Acronis to backup our VMs to AWS S3 since we have scalable storage space and would like to implement this for VMware v5.5.

Hello !

That's not possible with the True Image.

We have the service for 3rd party storages available in our Cyber Infrastructure and that can just be implemented in our Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud ( it's a different product, designed for service providers, business etc ).

The KB with that limitation is presented here ( the part that says backup options : where to backup )https://kb.acronis.com/content/63298

I would advise you to contact our support so we can help you to find the suitable solution for your needs https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Acronis has expanded its cloud backup solutions, Acronis True Image might have limitations when it comes to using non-Acronis cloud storage, such as AWS S3. Acronis Cloud Backup integration is a core feature of True Image, and compatibility with other cloud storage services might be limited or not officially supported.

However, software features and compatibility can change over time, and I recommend checking the latest documentation or contacting Acronis support to inquire about any updates or changes regarding the compatibility of Acronis True Image with non-Acronis cloud storage services like AWS S3. rankranchers.com

It's worth noting that Acronis might release new versions or updates that could expand the range of supported cloud storage options, so staying up to date with their official announcements is advisable.
Thanks!
