Acronis True Image 2020 (4 machines - 2 different files extensions for single version backups)

Thread solved

Hi, guys, I just ran single version bkps in 4 machines and I'm wondering why Acronis created different extensions. In 2 machines, it created .tib and, in the other 2, it created .tibx files. If they all are with the same program, the same scheme, why different extensions? Thanks, Ane

Ane, welcome to these public User Forums.

If you have installed ATI 2020 on all 4 computers, then the reason for differences depend on other factors too.

ATI 2020 makes .tibx files for new Disk backups, but will make .tib files if the backup was created by an earlier version of ATI.

ATI 2020 makes .tib files for all Files & Folders backups.

If you make a new Disk backup using the same name as an older .tib backup, then this can cause the new backup to use .tib - this can happen when backup files are deleted outside of the main ATI GUI and information is left behind in the database used by ATI.
