Acronis True Image 2020 fails - restarts in middle
I am new to the forum. I tried doing a search on keywords looking for something related to the following issue but could not get any results.
I have used Acronis True Image for several years without issue. I have a newer computer with a nvme disk(UEFI) and I am unable to get backup to work. I have a Acronis TI 2020 restore USB drive which I've used on other computers successfully. I boot into that usb using the bios and then start Acronis True Image 2020 Backup. The disk has a dual boot - Windows 11 and Linux Mint. I have started a full disk backup, checked and found it well into the backup - 70% or so done and come back later to find it seems to have started over and is only at about 20%. I cancel the backup but the log shows only that I cancelled it. With the same computer, doing the same backup, I also had one instance of where the backup failed with an error saying it found a grub efi booter on the source disk. I am booting from an Acronis restore usb stick.
I have been able to make a backup by booting into an old Hirens tool, starting WindowsPE within that, and then selecting to run an old Acronis version, 2017, which is included in that Hirens package. Following the same normal path, backup, select full disk, I am able to create and validate a backup image.
Does anyone have any idea why booting from the Acronis 2020 restore usb runs into issues trying to backup the disk?

Fred, welcome to these public User Forums.
With the newer NVMe type drives, it is best to create and use WinPE media created on the same system using the WinRE (Recovery Environment) files and device drivers.
This can be using the built in media builder tool with the 'Simple' option for the media, or you can use the MVP Assistant tool to do the same and include additional tools to be used in the PE environment.
