Thread solved

Backup failed at the very end and any files that were created were deleted.  This was in the Demon log

Is it corrupt on the backup drive, how do I resolve this?

Thanks

Gary, from the limited information provided above, then the final write of the backup data to your destination location failed due to the CRC error, so that backup in the destination is very likely to be corrupt.

This type of error can occur for various different reasons...

If your destination is a network location, then a network error, interruption etc.

If your destination is a local internal or external drive, then poor connections such as a USB cable, power glitch, memory issue or overclocking of CPU or memory etc.

If this backup has been running without such problems previously, then has anything changed since the last run?

Open the backup location and check to see if the last backup file is present, if so, then open the Clean up versions tool for that backup and delete the failed / corrupt backup (if this is allowed) then consider running a validation of that backup chain.

Ots a brand new installation, new machine, new backup drive, so there is no history with the machine.  The backup files are not present.

I reformated the drive and reran the backup, backup failed again.  The file is still on the drive but it won't open, states that it's corrupt. ill change the drive and see if it fixes the problem.

Changing cables or at least pulling them and resetting them often fixes these CRC errors

Replaced the backup drive and that eliminated the problem, thanks for the help

Don't know if Acronis reads these posts but an error code of 0x2160015, is not much help.  The CRC error is much more informational and a pointer to where the actual error is logged would help tremendously.
