Acronis when running slows down my computer

Thread needs solution

Acronis when running slows down my computer. Also my internet speed goes down from 890 mb/s to 75 mb/s.

As soon as the backup is finished, everything goes back to normal.

Is this problem known?

Thanks for your help

Daniel, there are a number of factors that can contribute to performance impact, some of them are outside of any control within the Acronis application, i.e. your physical hardware and any limitations it may have.

From an Acronis backup task perspective, then have you changed any of the options on the Options > Advanced page that control the performance of the task?

The default options on the Advanced page are intended to provide good backup performance without impacting on other user activities on the system!

I checked options in Advanced and everything seems normal. The problem is not dramatic at all, it is just strange and probably has a simple explanation. Other people may not have discovered it because the backup is only a small fraction of time over the day. And you must be lucky to notice what I noticed.

Have a good day,

Daniel

In fact I suppose the reason why my internet speed slows down from 980 mb/s to 75 mb/s when Acronis is making a copy is that a copy of my hard drive is also sent to the Internet by Acronis.

Am I right ?

Do you have an Acronis Cloud subscription and are you either using the Replication feature or making a disk backup to the Acronis Cloud?  Those are the only reasons why Acronis would be sending any data to the internet.  Otherwise, only minimal data is sent to Acronis for the purpose of the online dashboard.

I do not think I have an Acronis Cloud subscription. How can I verify?

It would show on your GUI Account page in ATI 2021 if you have a cloud subscription including showing the end date / subscription renewal date.

I have no idea to where is located the ATI page. How can I find it?

I do not have Premium. So there is no connection between Acronis and the Cloud on my laptop.

Thanks for your help,

Daniel

The problem is still mysterious.

Dear Daniel,
We recommend updating to the latest build, you can find more in the article:

If the issue persists, please contact our support for investigation: https://www.acronis.com/support/

It's possible that Acronis is using a significant portion of your network bandwidth while uploading the backup data to a cloud storage service or performing other network-related operations. This can temporarily impact your internet speed, causing a noticeable decrease during the backup process.

Once the backup is completed, Acronis releases the system resources it was using, and your computer's performance should return to normal. Similarly, your internet speed should also go back to its usual level once Acronis is no longer utilizing the network heavily.
