any potential issues using ATI2020 to backup and restore a Windows 11 machine

Thread solved

Are there any potential issues using ATI2020 to backup and restore a Windows 11 machine?

I have successfully backed-up and restored a full Windows 11 drive using the ATI2020 USB Rescue Media.

Just looking for any issues/problems when working with Windows 11.

I am not aware of any potential issues if restoring Windows 11 using ATI 2020 rescue media assuming the following:

  • The backup image being used was created from the same working Windows 11 system.
  • The Acronis rescue media being used is booted correctly for UEFI / GPT BIOS boot and has all required device drivers needed to 'see' the installed internal disk drive to restore to.
  • You are restoring a full disk backup image that includes all hidden / system partitions.

At the point of performing a disk recovery using Acronis bootable rescue media the version of Windows OS involved is mostly irrelevant as you are in essence doing a bare metal restore, i.e. the target disk drive will be wiped of all existing partitions and data as the initial first step of the recovery, so there is no Windows involvement in that recovery process until it has completed and you are booting from the internal disk drive again.
