ATI 2021 - can't read NVME drives

Thread needs solution

Changed in BIOS from RAID to AHCI

I then rebuilt my Rescue Media, but when I boot to Acronis Rescue Media (on USB), it sees the nvme drives, but shows them as empty and cannot be browsed for backup.

Prompts me to format the disk, but I now there is a tibx file in the root.

I tried both WinPE rescue media and Win RE environment with similar results.

I'm running Win10 Pro. Obviously I'm doing something wrong since this appears to work for some.

Thanks,

David

David, several comments to make:

First, there should be no issue with ATI 2021 reading NVMe drives providing that you don't have BitLocker encryption enabled for those drives and that encryption is still locked.

Second, if you have switched BIOS from RAID to AHCI, then did you have NVMe drives in an actual RAID configuration - if so, then that will render them unreadable when used in AHCI.

I would recommend downloading the latest MVP Assistant tool and running the Driver Analyser tool it provides to identify exactly what drivers you have or else running the Windows msinfo32 command and checking there?  I suspect that your rescue media needs additional device drivers to be installed such as the Intel RST VMD drivers.

See New MVP Assistant Version 2.7.1 Available

Note: my own main system has a 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD and works fine with ATI 2021 rescue media.
