Back-up on external drive can not be choosen

Thread needs solution

Hi all, last saturday my computer failed with the famous error: 0xc000000e. I had no chance to enter in windows, os I created a boot stick and installed windows 10 (64 bit) again). After that, I have downloaded True image 2020 and installed it. And now my problem: I have a full bakcup of may system based at the end of last month on an external drive. But I can not see this bach-up in the correspondent column - i see always C and nothing more. Even when I try to add this external backup, it is shown (and alkso valid, I've checked this), but when I switch then to recovery, system switch back to C\, so that the proposal from Acronis is to make a restore from c to c, what is nonsense, of course. Does anybody has an idea what is wrong there? Or must I process this recovery using acronis boot usb stick?

Kai,

Your post indicates that you are wanting to restore the operating system disk.  It is recommended that you use the boot usb stick for this recovery as a best practice.  There can be unwanted issues arise when attempting recovery of the system disk while booted to it so it is best to have that disk offline.  Using the boot stick achieves that goal.

I am curious when you say " But I can not see this bach-up in the correspondent column - i see always C and nothing more. Could you post a screen shot at the UI that shows what you describe?
