Bare Metal Restore from a True Image Cloud Backup

Thread needs solution

Apologies as I'm sure this has been covered somewhere else, however I can't seem to find it (or if it's at all possible). I'm backing up a remote PC to the Acronis cloud (entire PC) and I want to restore it to a VM on Hyper-V. Easiest way of doing this I imagine is conducting a bare metal install (no OS already installed on the VM) and this is where i'm getting stuck, as I'm running the "Universal Restore" but i can't get passed the "OS" choice, as it says "Cannot find an operating system on the current machine" Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Owen, welcome to these public User Forums.

Please see the following documents that may be of interest / help:

I would recommend using a local backup drive in conjunction with the above advice rather than using a Cloud backup.

You shouldn't be trying to do restores from the Acronis Universal Restore media, this is normally only used after a backup has been restored first using the normal Rescue Media, so that an OS is detected on the restored drive.
