Create bootable media from tib file from dead PC
Hello all,
We had a computer die and the only media we have available is its previous tib file. We need to restore the PC on a clean hard drive/no OS on it.
I cannot find anywhere in ATI2021 for how to generate recovery media from an existing tib file.
Any help?

Madeline, welcome to these public User Forums.
Sorry but there is no method of generating rescue media from an existing .tib backup file. This has to be created from within the installed ATI 2021 application using the Acronis Bootable Rescue Media Builder tool, or else an ISO image of the basic Linux version of rescue media can be downloaded from your Acronis Account that can then be burnt to a CD / DVD optical disc or converted using third party utilities to be used on a USB memory stick.
See KB 65508: Acronis True Image 2021: how to create bootable media and KB 59877: Acronis True Image: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media

Hello Steve,
The tib file contains the entire OS. If I create a USB stick of rescue media, can I then install the tib file from the BIOS?

Sorry but no. Please follow the steps shown in KB 65539: Acronis True Image 2021: How to restore your computer with WinPE-based or WinRE-based media for doing the recovery.
The backup TIB file contains the equivalent of a zip container of your OS, there is no install option in the file, it has to be recovered / restored from the container back to a disk drive using the Acronis rescue media.
See my YouTube video showing how disk recovery works.

Thank you for sticking with me here.
To clarify my understanding - I can create the recoverable media on any functioning system. This would be the windowsPE information. I know our BIOS is UEFI, so I would select that.
Boot from the recovery stick, wait for the acronis environment to load, and THEN we can select the tib file from another location (ie a another USB stick)?
