Different backup for cloud and hard drive
I would like to make two different sets of backups, one to an external hard dive and one smaller to the cloud. I'm 99% sure this is possible but I'm going to buy today and I'd hate to have my grand backup strategy fail :-)
I own a window company and have long known that a simple screwup/failure could make my life miserable for a period. Time to stop procrastinating and start doing a proper back up.

Mike, ditto to Enchantech. Yup, it's possible and glad you're thinking about multiple backup types and locations!!!
Definitely diversify your backups (frequency, location, and type) to give yourself recovery options. Nothing is full proof and the more recovery points you have available, the better your chances are for recovery in case the unexpected happens (like a corrupted or failing destination disk where the backups reside).
You might even want to grab an extra external USB drive and do an occasional "offline" backup with the True Image rescue media too. That will give you one more different drive to fall back on and will give you some practice with the rescue media to get familiar with it, "just in case". Also, offline backups (where your computer isn't booted into the regular operating system, but is instead using the mini True Image rescue environment) should alleviate any potential malware (if for some chance you get infected) from being able to crawl its way onto that drive where it could cause trouble.
Just a recommendation though. However, if the data is critical (family photos, important files, etc.), you can never have too many backup options!

If your finances permit, and the data is particularly important, I would invest in an additional USB HDD. Occasionally you see good deals for them. Last weekend I picked up 2 x 4TB Seagate Expansion USB 3 (3.5" versions with own power supply) for about US$70 each. At that price I could not resist!
