Disk backup options when making two backups to two external USB drives

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to make two independent backups to two different external USB hard drives, one weekly and one daily. I can't get the unique settings in disk backup options for each to stay correct for each backup. Do I use 'Save as default'? Does 'Save as default' save my settings for EACH backup to EACH drive or BOTH backups to BOTH drives? How do I save unique disk backup options for these two without them being duplicated or without them changing by themselves?

Michael, welcome to these public User Forums.

Save as default is only used to set custom values for the options pages for the type of task you are creating so that any new tasks of the same type pick up those same settings when they are created.

To create two independent backup tasks, one for each external USB drive, then you will need to configure each task separately and when you have set all the configuration options as you want them, click on either Back up now, or expand that button and choose to Backup later or in 1 hour etc.

If you are seeing all the task settings changing or being reset, then there is a known issue at work presently that is impacting large numbers of users.

Please see forum topic: True Image 2020 -Backup option settings loss - where the same issue has been reported by multiple different users with many versions of ATI.

The current workaround for the settings loss issue is to open the main Windows Services.msc control panel, stop the Acronis Managed Mini Service and change the startup type for the service to be Disabled.  This service is used for the Acronis Dashboard feature and seems to be the main cause of settings being lost!
