Major Bug: Repair Installation "corrupts" backup tasks (not able to replicate so far)

Thread needs solution

Yesterday in attempting to deal with a problem I was having I did a repair installation. After the repair installation all my local backup tasks were "corrupted"; right clicking on the V next to the task name only gave option to clone or delete the task. No ability to validate. Fortunately, if I went into Explorer, selected the task, I could select validate, and after the validation ran all functionality returned. Time consuming and annoying - had 6+ tasks to validate.

Have to hope this was a one-off event Ian as repair installs have become more common in the forums!

Have you reported this at all or were you able to capture a system report while it was in the corrupt state?

Steve, yes I have reported it.

Cannot remember if I the system report submitted with the feedback was before or after I did the validation. I had the same issue (if I recall correctly) when I did a clean installation on 3 PCs.

If I feel brave I will do another repair installation.

Steve, I downloaded the installation file from my account, ran repair and the problem did not reoccur. I suppose the original repair did not work properly or the installation file (since deleted) was somehow corrupted.
