Migrating from old computer to new computer.
I have an older Dell running Windows 7 with Acronis True Image 2015. I would like to move the data to a new computer that is running Windows 10. The new computer does not yet have Acronis True Image installed.
If I install Acronis True Image 2020 on the computer will it be able to read the .tib files that were created by Acronis 2015?
Thanks for any help on this.

I'm pretty sure it was disks and partitions but I can't tell. The back is called "Entire PC". In the past when I need to get files from the backup data I just clicked on the .tib file and navigated to the file I needed. It would expand in a file tree and it was like looking at an image of the hard drive. I have the backup set to incremental.
I just want to move all my user data - word, excel, outlook, itunes, photos and videos, etc.
I did this once when I hard drive crashed and from my recollection it was pretty easy to get everything back. I just wanted to make sure Acronis True Image 2020 can read the .tib files created by Acronis True Image 2015. Thanks for clearing that up.

Stephen, if it is an 'Entire PC' backup, then it is disks & partitions so should contain all that you need for recovering files etc.
You may need to check whether your Outlook files are actually captured in the backup image as the Microsoft VSS service used by Acronis for creating snapshot data will automatically exclude some Outlook data files by default!
See KB 48032: Acronis software: *.OST-file is not backed up for some information.
