Recovering EFI partition never ends
Hello everyone,
I recently backed-up my EFI (Windows 10) partition because I needed to make room for an MS update (KB5034441) on my WinRE partition. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for the recovery to complete. Acronis TI tells me that there is less than 1 minute remaining but that's been about 3 hours now. Please tell me what I can do so that my EFI partition is completely restored.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Michael

Michael, how are you performing this recovery?
Ideally you should have created WinPE rescue media using the 'Simple' method of the integrated builder tool, or using the MVP Assistant tool, then have booted your computer using that media to do the recovery of any hidden / system partitions.
I am not sure as to why you would need to recover the EFI partition when just resizing the WinRE partition? The Recovery partition is normally found after the Windows C: partition towards the opposite end of the drive to the EFI System partition, so the EFI partition shouldn't need to be touched.
This type of change is probably more suited to using a partition manager tool such as MiniTool Partition Wizard (Free) which can move / resize the WinRE partition and takes care of updating system information as part of the process.
