Startup Recovery Manager - how can I get rid of it ?

Thread needs solution

I can find no option to disable it and because I dual boot from a hard ware perspective via the motherboard boot gui it seems to mess up the Startup Recovery Manager. I get "non system disk...press a key to continue...". I can boot but its a pain.

How can I just get rid of it in its entirety as I prefer to use recovery boot up media if needed.

Thanks!

Gregory, welcome to these public User Forums.

The normal method of disabling ASRM is that you used to enable it, which will mean doing so from the boot OS where you enabled it.

If that doesn't work, then you would need to do a boot repair of some type.

ASRM modifies the MBR on Legacy boot systems and would be removed by resetting the MBR.  I am not sure how it works with UEFI / GPT systems as I have never tried it on such.
