True Image 2020 installer does nothing on Windows 10

Thread needs solution

I did a fresh new windows 10 pro install on new hardware today.  It is not connected at all to the internet.  I copied the 601 meg installer to the new machine and started it. It pops up with the user access prompt asking if it should be allowed to run.  I click on "Yes" and that's it.  Nothing.  I don't even see it in task manager.  Pretty weird.  Any thoughts?

This is really maddening.  I'm trying to move my system to new hardware.  I would like to create the bootable rescue USB on the new hardware where I have temporarily done a new install of windows 10.  That way the issues I've had with things like the USB keyboard and USB mouse (Both wired) not working, should not happen when I boot to restore from my backup from the system I'm migrating.

However, as mentioned above, I cannot get true image 2020 to install on the new machine.  It prompts asking if it's okay to install and I reply, "yes" and then nothing....

I checked Windows 10 settings under "developer" and made sure program installation is not limited to store apps only.  I also ran the Win 10 troubleshooter and tried running the installer in compatibility mode as an older version of windows and still no joy.

I'm going to be really torqued off it ends up being the installer requires internet access and the way Acronis handles a situation where there is no internet is to do nothing.  It should at least give a message to that affect.

Please see KB 46710: Acronis True Image: Installation Fails in Windows - for common issues and solutions.

ATI always should be installed from an Administrator user account and should not need internet access other than for Activation but this can also be done offline.

See KB 62972: Acronis True Image 2020: How to activate license - which has information on the different methods available for activating the product and troubleshooting issues that may arise.
You will have activation issues if you are using a Proxy server or VPN to connect to the internet.

I gave up on that direction.  So far my opinion of Acronis 2020 is not good.  Posting a new post about the next problem....
