Acronis True Image 2021 running in system tray Windows 10

Thread needs solution

I recently upgraded to ATI 2021 from ATI 2020. I now have an Acronis icon running in my system tray. It appears to list all the backups I have ever made including ones that have been removed. It also shows advertisements to buy the product (already done that). The old sys tray icon used to show when a backup was being made, otherwise it was ghosted out. It was useful. I see no significance for having the new system tray icon. Does anyone have an opinion and should or can it be removed if not needed?

Sam, welcome to these public User Forums.

The new notifications icon in ATI 2021 is normal for that version and is intended to give users a quick way of checking the status of their backup tasks etc without needing to launch the full ATI GUI application.

You can remove unwanted notifications by hovering your mouse over the right end of individual entries, i.e. advertisements, this will reveal an 'X' to click and remove the entry.

If you want to remove the system tray icon, then use the normal Windows 10 tray options to hide it from normal view.
