After installing TI2021 (Windows 10), True Image 2021 stops responding.
Installed True Image 2021 on "old" Windows 10 and created backup. Performed clean install of Windows 10 with all related updates as of 02/22/2021. Tried to create a new backup and True Image 2021 keeps "no longer responding". It is taking HOURS to move between screens.
I uninstalled True Image and used the cleaner tool and rebooted. Again, it is taking forever to move between screens. Finally got through the screens (new install of Windows with updates) to create a new backup.
New backup finished overnight. Came back this AM to restore a single file / files and again, it is taking hours to move between screens to select files to restore.
Need a solution to this.

Steve, thanks for the welcome!
Sorry, I was trying to be as complete in my post as possible. Let me address your questions below:
- Here are the steps I took:
-- Installed ATI2021 in existing Windows 10 Pro that I wanted to backup and keep to restore files as needed in the new Windows 10 install (license files, some data files, etc)
-- Backup completed, rebooted from thumbdrive install media for Windows 10
-- Reinstalled Windows 10 (formatting harddrive during install process)
-- Rebooted
-- Applied all available updates
-- Rebooted
-- Installed ATI2021 and created "baseline" backup
** during this process ATI2021 started running VERY SLOW (moving between screens, selecting options when creating backup, all actions were taking 10s of minutes between each step)
-- This initial backup of the baseline install took overnight to complete
-- Rebooted
-- Installed Office and other base applications and went to restore a file from backup and opening ATI2021 and accessing the backup file and locating the single file to restore took over 8 hrs due to ATI2021 "Not Responding"
I will try to get answers to the other questions as soon as possible. It will take time as ATI2021 is not even starting now. So I may have to use the clean up tool again and re-install for the 3rd time. At this point I feel trapped with software that does not work.
Is there an Acronis solution that will read backups and allow restoring individual files without installing the entire ATI2021 application? I am so frustrated as I am now stuck with Acronis due to the original backup image that was created and now ATI not working.

Jay, thanks for the clarification about the steps you have followed!
There is definitely something strange with the very poor response times you have described above!
When you did the clean install of Windows 10, was this on the same PC or to a different one?
When you installed ATI 2021, was this done from an Administrator account?
The only other method of accessing your backup files is by booting the PC from the Acronis Rescue Media and using the offline application, otherwise ATI needs to be installed in Windows on this or another PC.

Steve,
Yes, installation was to the same machine. During install of Windows, I did format the harddrive.
Yes as well, when I installed, I did run the installation as Admin.
Thanks for the clarification about accessing the backup files.
I am currently looking for a prior version to down and install and then install 2021. Not sure why but it seemed to work initially before reinstall Windows and the machine did have 2016 (I believe it was) installed.

Jay, please see the following from the ATI 2021 user guide ref installing.
If your current version of Acronis True Image is Acronis True Image 2019 or Acronis True Image 2020, the new version will simply update it; there is no need to remove the old version and reinstall the software. If your current version is older, we recommend that you remove the current version, first.

Steve,
Yeah, that does not apply to my issue. This is a clean install of ATI2021 on a clean Windows 10 OS.

Steve,
So, nothing works. Not even paying for support. I need to know how to get a refund for the actual software and the support costs. Thanks for trying to help!

When experiencing extreme system response slowdowns, it would be helpful to know what the system is doing. One of the easiest ways to check this is to run Task Manager and sort by CPU time. Perhaps there is one specific process or service that's sucking up the CPU.

Jay, please see KB 21242: Refund policy for Personal products for information that should help you if you want to request a refund.
