ati 2021 cloud "Lease request conflicts with another lease "

Thread needs solution

Been getting a few email warning errors about latest build of ati2021 and cloud backups that say:

"Lease request conflicts with another lease"

Does anyone know what this error means?  It does seem to have clear up after a day or so.  But I saw it on two different accounts, so not sure if I will see more of it.  Maybe it was a passing cloud availability issue, nothing to worry about?

I tried contacting support.. but frustratingly they never give answers until you work with them for hours to record logs and details.  I think it is their way of deterring people from wanting to contact their support.    Can't they just tell me what the error means and some things to try?

I have not seen this and have no idea what it means; it may be backup server specific - I use the Australian server, Au1.

I'm seeing this error. Cloud backups are constantly failing and having to be restarted. Today for example. An error has occurred. No kidding. Generic errors related to the Cloud.

Sounds very much like issues at the Acronis server / Data Centre side of things!

Am not making any Cloud backups so not an issue I have seen personally!

Do you use another Cloud provider or does your 3,2,1 backup plan not include Cloud storage?

I use a mix of OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive for some shared / common data between my PC's, otherwise use local / external drives and my NAS for my main backup data, including some drives kept disconnected.

My Synology NAS also has a Cloud Drive application that I use for some important data.

I was using the Acronis Cloud for a while but with the move from perpetual to subscription being forced on users with ATI 2021 and the imposition of Cyber Protect, have kept my options to those that I can use with my perpetual versions of ATI along with using another backup application that I have a 4 PC perpetual license for).
Note: my access to the Acronis Cloud was via a license to ATI gifted to the MVP's, but I only buy perpetual licenses by choice!

I do not find the Acronis Cloud to be efficient for any backups of any size - it is slow uploading and unreliable (based on other user feedback) when trying to bring the data back!  My local backup locations have served me just fine for many years, are faster and have been very reliable!  I would rather invest in buying another NAS than pay the subscription cost of using the Acronis Cloud.

I have considered other Cloud services but the restrictions in ATI coupled with only having 10Mbps upload rate from my ISP doesn't suggest they would offer much improvement.
