Cannot select destination disk in disk recovery

Thread needs solution

I have an old MacBook Air which is dual boot windows and Mac OS. The windows partition is 100GB and I used ATI 2021 to backup the windows partition as an image file and placed on an external hard disk. Then on a new MacBook Air which also configured as dual boot (windows partition 120GB), i used the bootable rescue media builder to create a bootable usb, and then boot up the new MBA using that usb, and tried to recover the image file onto the new MBA, by overwriting the 120GB windows partition. But then ATI disk recovery doesn’t allow selecting the MBA hard disk, which is listed in the table but grayed out. It doesn’t list out the windows partition within the MBA hard disk. My question is how can I recover the windows partition in this case? Thanks.

David, welcome to these public User Forums.

Caveat: I am a Windows user with no direct experience of using ATI on any Mac.

My understanding is that you need to use the ATI 2021 for Mac application for all operations on a Mac computer, including those for Windows partitions.
