Kernel Extensions message on Mac

Thread needs solution

Still running Catalina. Notification keep popping up say I need to install latest kernel extensions. Any check for updates States I am running latest version. Does anyone have any ideas, does it mean backup is not functioning properly now? Thanks

Colin, welcome to these public User Forums.

Caveat: I am a Windows user with no direct experience of using ATI on any Mac.

Please see KB 64713: Acronis software: 'Legacy system extension' message on macOS 10.15 which tries to explain the reason for this message.

Steve,

I don't think this is the message Colin was referring to. I just started getting a notification to install the latest kernel extension yesterday, and it seems to pop up every 15 minutes or so.

Update required

To protect your Mac fully, install the latest kernel extensions in Acronis True Image.

Selecting the notification opens the ATI home window, but there's no obvious way to install an extension. Like for Colin, checking for updates through ATI reports I'm at the latest version (25.6 on MacOS 10.15.7).

Thanks.

Patrick, this would need to be raised directly with Acronis as would appear to be triggered by updates to MacOS giving rise to a different wording of the extensions warning message along with increased frequency of the warning!

Note: doing a general search in Google using "To protect your Mac fully, install the latest kernel extensions in" (without specifying Acronis True Image) shows this is a widespread warning being reported for any existing application that uses kernel extensions (kext's).

Thank you, I did so. I had searched on the message specific to Acronis, which is what led me to his thread. Your results make it sound like an OS issue at least as much as an Acronis one. Again, thanks.
