Linux Recovery Media Size

Thread needs solution

I am a happy user of ATI 2017 on Win10/64. I use the installed ATI software to create full disk images of Win boot drives and I use a bootable Linux rescue CD-R disc (I prefer the Linux version) to restore images. All works fine. I recently decided to upgrade to ATI 2021 just to stay current and because I tangled with a UEFI boot problem a few weeks ago that was probably due to my mistake. I quickly learned that the 2021 Linux rescue disc must be 705MB in size. That's 5MB larger than a standard CD-R disc. Does anyone know if the 2020 version of the Linux recovery disc will fit on a CD-R disc? I'm not really interested in the new security and malware features in 2021. I think I'd be quite happy with 2020.

The download version of the ATI 2021 recovery media *.iso is larger than CD size, you will need to use a DVD rather than CD. I prefer to use a USB 3 sick for recovery media as it is much faster than CD/DVD. You can create recovery media from within ATI 2021 but it is more flexible than under ATI 2017. There are three versions of the recovery media, and for most users the simple method is ideal (it use Win RE, and as it uses the recovery partition on the PC it should include all the necessary device drivers).

Zane, welcome to these public User Forums.

The size of the ATI 2020 rescue media is shown in my Acronis Account download page as shown below at 670.3MB for the Linux ISO file.
