Now Getting 'Windows Defender Turned Off' Notifications
Acronis True Image 2021, Build 34340
Windows 10 Pro, Version 1909
I am now, all of a sudden, getting notifications on a daily basis from Windows Security that virus and threat detection is turned off. Somehow, Windows no longer recognizes that Acronis is handling this. And, when I try to go into Windows protection, it says the page is turned off. I know this is because of Acronis protection. BUT, in Virus & threat protection, it shows Acronis True Image as on with no action needed.
So how do I get the notifications to stop? Should I just allow Windows Defender to do periodic scans while keeping Acronis as primary?

Already disabled. Just had a remote session. Acronis does not know why I get these 2x daily.

Go to Windows Security - Virus and Threat Protection scroll down to Notifications and click on Change notification settings, turn Off Virus & threat protection notifications.

Thanks. But as mentioned before, they are all already off.
And for others, it might not be a scroll down, click "Settings" lower left.

From the Windows Security setting page, click on Settings at the bottom of the left pane. From there, check "Manage providers" and "Manage notifications" to see if anything looks amiss.

Antivirus is Acronis.
No providers for Web protection, but I'm not getting notifications on that, and I know Acronis is doing that as I have had a number of warnings.

Is there any particular reason why you are still on build 1909 for Windows 10, which is now 2 builds down-level having been superseded by builds 2004 and 2009 (20H2) and may have a bearing on this issue?

Age of thread. Currently on 20H2 installed 12/6/20. Coincidently, just after I posted this. Have anew support session next week.

Thanks for confirming the OS build. I probably should have noticed the age from the initial topic but have to confess to not having done so!
Given this topic is already 7 months old, I don't have any expectation of finding any quick fix!
Some thoughts:
Is ATI 2021 running from an Administrator level account / was installed from the same?
(All the key / core features of ATI, and especially the new protection requires this level of authority.)
Which edition of ATI 2021 is being used here? Am assuming that you have one of the Subscription editions in order to have Acronis as the antivirus provider, where only the Advanced and Premium editions actually offer this. (Standard & Essential do not!).
Have you tested the options to reset all protection to defaults?
Have you tested 'Turning off protection permanently' and re-enabling Defender to see if the Defender notifications continue to be given?

I have just done that now. Will see what happens before moving to next step.

Steve,
Have you tested the options to reset all protection to defaults? Yes, no change - still get virus notifications.
Have you tested 'Turning off protection permanently' and re-enabling Defender to see if the Defender notifications continue to be given? Trying this now.

No notifications. Support has missed their call in time. I'll put Acronis protection back on and see what happens. I might have to live with it.
