Recovery is trying to use old back up location

Thread needs solution

Using ATI - Back ups are going to location A  as desired.  When click on Recovery it is trying to recover from an old location B and is asking for authentication to that old location. Entered auth info and said it could not connect.  DId a Reg Edit and deleted old location, rebooted but still trying to go there.

How can I get RECOVERY to recover from location where back-up is stored by ATI?

Keith, welcome to these public User Forums.

From your description, it sounds likely that you have moved backup files from the old location to a new one outside of the ATI GUI, i.e. using Explorer?  Unfortunately, ATI keeps a record of all backup files created and their locations in an internal database, hence this type of issue when the database doesn't 'know' about changes to locations!

Perhaps the simplest method of resolving this is as follows:

In the ATI GUI, select the problem backup task, then click on the carat 'v' next to the name and take the Delete option from the drop-down menu shown.

Select to only remove the task settings, leaving the files in the location they are stored.

Next, at the bottom of the panel, click on the carat to the right of the normal + Add backup option and click on the option to 'Add existing backup'.

Navigate to the new location for the backup files, then if this is a .tib type backup, select the most recent .tib file for the task, or if it is a .tibx type backup, select any of the files shown.

The backup will be added back into the GUI list of tasks but will need to be Reconfigured to select the Source and set the backup Options for Schedule, Scheme, etc.

The alternative to doing the above, is to boot from your Acronis Rescue Media and navigate to the location where the files are stored to do the recovery.  The database is not used for the boot media!
