Rescue Media Builder 2021 Unable to Restore tibx File

Thread needs solution

Oops. I posted the following on another forum by mistake.

When I went to restore my computer, I  booted from my USB external hard drive from UEFI. I went through the various settings in Rescue Media Builder 2021 to restore my computer and it then went to work (NOT!). I realized after many tries, Rescue Media Builder was unable to restore a .tibx file. Frankly, I don't understand why Acronis would would not update Rescue Media Builder to conform to their new tibx file system.

Is there a workaround in restoring the tibx file other than using Rescue Media Builder?

The rescue media builder is only used for creating the rescue media - it has no role in recovery - you have to boot your PC from the rescue media to perform a recovery, and yes, the ATI 2021 rescue media works just fine with both .tib and .tibx backup files!

See KB 65508: Acronis True Image 2021: how to create bootable media and KB 59877: Acronis True Image: how to distinguish between UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes of Acronis Bootable Media

When doing the restore of your backup, this needs to be done as a Disk & Partition restore and at the top Disk selection level.

Please see forum topic: [How to] recover an entire disk backup - and in particular the attached PDF document which shows a step-by-step tutorial for doing this type of recovery / restore.
