Upgrade from 2020 to 2021 Breaks Replica

Thread needs solution

After upgrading from 2020 to 2021 my first backup replica is stuck at Calculating time remaining...

After further examination. Found a Full Backup was created after upgrade. Is this normal operation?

Sorry, I only tried the replica option very briefly and decided it was a waste of time given my broadband upload rate is under 10 Mbps and any PC's using replica would be churning away 24x7 uploading data.

Now if I could use replication to my NAS, it might be more useful, but otherwise, I will stick with using normal Acronis Cloud backups while my subscription remains active (courtesy of the MVP program)!

Note: Replica follows the same backup scheme as the local task that it is replicating, so if you have set to create a new Full backup after say 5 incrementals, then every 6th upload will be of a full backup image!

Wow! Upgrade changed my incremental only to Full after 5 incremental versions. Seems to only be a problem when using Replica.

Replicas can also consume a large amount of Cloud storage if you:

  1. do not configure cleanup rules appropriately
  2. do not keep an eye on available storage

as I found during beta testing.

As far as I am aware I did not have any active replicas when going to ATI 2021 release build.

I did not notice any change to backup settings, but on most of my PCs were on the Beta and I saved settings, uninstalled, reinstalled and retrieved setting which would have overwritten any such change.

I gave Acronis the benefit of the doubt since my Anti-Virus was working properly. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I had to delete the Replica because it was going to take 15 days. I agree with IanL-S. Don't use Replica. I have created a new Cloud Backup Task.
