Acronis asking for password to connect to server, but what password?

Thread needs solution

Hello, we've got two data centres and a server running acronis in each. For the most part they run OK but recently we moved a server from one data centre to the other and since then the scronis backups have been really flaky.
It'll run OK for a couple of weeks and then it will silently fail and not run again until we give it a kicking.
Right now when I try to connect to the client from the backup server, it keeps asking me for a username and password. Half the time it won't let me input anything into the box and when it does. nothing works. I've tried every username and password that's on either box with no effect.
The two servers can ping each other and the client has a folder on the backup server as a mapped drive so there doesn't seem to be any communication problem.

Both servers are windows 2003, the backup server runs Acronis True Image Management Console® (build 8,115)

the client has acronis true image echo enterprise server and acronis true image agent, I'm not sure how to find out which versions. The services are running, I've tried restarting them.

Any suggestions?

Hello V Support,

Thank you for posting and welcome to our forum. I will do my best to help you with this issue.

It is very likely that it is caused by an incorrect SSL certificate. I can recommend a couple of solutions and workarounds.

1. Check this article and try the solution from it.

2. If #1 does not help, please this this article.

3. If #1&2 do not help, you can try reinstalling the Backup Server, please note, the backups stored there will be lost but you can always export them. Please check page 29 in our user guide available here.

4. As a last resort, you can try uninstalling your build and installing the latest one, which is 8398.

If you have additional questions or any other issues, please let me know.

Thank you.
