2009 - Restore from DVD failed (solved)

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I made an image from my picture archive burned on DVD. Afterwards I tried to restore the content to cross check if all datas are in correct condition. The request opened to choose the right drive and to load the "volume 1" which I did. But this request turned up again and again without any progress.

What could be the matter?

Thank you so much for assistance.

What build of TI 2009 are you using?

Are you trying to do the restore from TI in Windows or when booted to the TI CD?

Do you have room to copy the backup file from the DVD to a hard drive and try the restore from the copy?

It's built 9.769 and yes I am working out from Windows XP home SP3.

I do have a copy on my external HD and tried that one as well - the same result.

What's the name and size of the backup file?

Did the complete backup fit on one DVD?

Is the backup an image (My Computer) type backup or a files & folders (My Data) type backup?

Do you get the error immediately after selecting the backup or only after you try to restore?

Does the backup validate successfully? If not now, did you validate it when it was created?

1) Bildarchiv2.tib / 3,13 GB

2) fits complete on DVD

3) it's a My Data type backup.

4) The error rose after trying to restore.

5) The message was yes but I will run again.

Further news tomorrow. Thank you.

It's really strange. I tried to validate but failed due to the message window "Warning - specify location of volume1 - search or repeat". I sorted out the path on my exHD but the warning returned always again.

What's going on there? Why it does not recognise the data file?

Ok, the first backup has been invalid to any reason. The second try works properly.

Thank you for your help.

Michael

The backup file ends with a number. Was the "2" part of the name you gave the backup or did TI add it?

Have you tried renaming the file to "BildarchivB.tib" or something similar?
