2012 and Plus pack UEFI

Thread needs solution

Hello all,
Question: will TI Home 2012 with Plus Pack work on UEFI BIOS and can it do "Bare Metal" ( new hardware) recoveries? Thanks Fred

PS: When is 2013 TI home\ Plus Pack release projected for ...might just wait a bit

TIH 2012 works fine with my Lenovo E420 laptop which has UEFI BIOS.

Only going by the fact 2013 is in beta and that in the past Acronis have released new versions around August/September, I'd guess sometime in late August early September is the most likely.

Colin,
Hello...Thanks for your reply ...I'll give it a go ..Just caught a deal with upgrade to 2013 when released... One other question would un-installing Acronis 2010 Using TI itself , or installing over it be OK? ...Regards Fred

==> I'd guess sometime in late August early September is the most likely.

and worth the risk of installing around March...

Fred,

I think it would be prudent to uninstall 2010 and then install 2012. You can export any tasks that you currently have and re-import them, but you will need to set the schedules up again.

==> uninstall 2010 and then install 2012

backup the system drive in between in case of real problems.

Thanks All,

Just for fun (! ?) I did a Full Image backup and tried to do the install both ways .. Removing 2010...and installing over 2010...Seems to have made no difference... The "over" install, just at one point removed all duplicate folders\files and then went on to install ... The "removed " install just did it's thing ... Both worked ... now on to the "testing" ..so far so good . Thanks again ...Regards Fred

Fred,

With 2012 installing over the top of 2010 will work, however, this will not work with 2013, so my suggestion was aimed at getting a clean install as I assumed you'd be going for 2013 when it comes out, though now you've 2012 installed, 2013 should install over the top with no problem.

Colin,
Hello and thanks... I will be experimenting with 2012 Plus Pack for a while... It's somewhat different than 2010. I understand your suggestion (clean install) ...just wanted to try...Regards Fred
