2012 Plus Will Not Allow Me to Create ISO

Thread needs solution

I installed Windows AIK. I copied the WinPE files. I installed the 2012 Acronis Programs.

When I try to create an iso of my computer, everything is fine until I hit proceed. I keep getting this error message: Error occurred while creating the image.

I have a 1TB drive with three partitions. One is a system partition, on is my C drive-my root drive, the other is my D drive which only has data on it.

I copied the install.wim and winpe_x86 files into a folder on my D drive. Acronis created a file named AcronisMedia.wim in the same folder. I point to this folder when Plus asks for the WinPE information.

Windows AIK and Acronis and Acronis Plus reside on my c drive.

I did successfully created a boot disk in Acronis 2012. I was not able to create a backup to my server. I get this error message: Failed to check the existence of the file "W:\My partitions.tib. Whatever that means. I clicked ignore and Acronis continued. Another error then occurs: Error occurred while creating the file. To specify another location, click browse. I get the same error no matter where I try to create the backup on my server. When I send the error the Acronis I get a message that says no information about my error is available. I suspect that Acronis cannot connect to my server, even though I tested the connection and was able to access my server's drive. The server drive is mapped to my computer.

I chose another location and the program backed up to a DVD.

The programs runs very slowly. It takes an inordinate amount of time to run. Every time I click an option, the program takes a few minutes to register the option.

I really would like to get this program to work. The instructions are less than lucid, and the programs are not as simple as they are protrayed in the litature.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

BigBillFL,

Try making the ISO without copying the WIM files etc, the Media Builder should auto open the 'Deployment Tools' command propmt which in turn invokes WAIK to do it's thing, then once WAIK has created the WIM file and created the ISO, Media Builder will store it in the location you specified. Moving the files might cause the WAIK installer to lose track of itself.

You have downloaded WAIK3.x if using Vista or W7?

Is it possible that the Server rejected the connection from the rescue CD?

Are the network settings correct in the Rescue CD?

DVD's will take quite some time and if you have more than two DVD's for the archive, you won't want to use that method in a hurry after the first time using it due to the amount of DVD swapping that will need to be done.

I open the Plus program, point to the WinPE files on my D drive when prompted, accept the default file location for the image which is my D drive folder with the WinPE files in it, and I get an error message that states that an error occurred during the disk creation process. This error occurrs do matter where I try to save the file.

I have two mapped drives to a server. I disconnected both of these drives and get the same error. I am sure it is something I did during setup.

How do I make ISO without copying the wim files?

That's interesting, I don't have to point to my WAIK files, they are auto found. I can't attempt to duplicate your problem at this moment as I don't have the 2012 PP, 2011 and ABR11 equivalents, but that doesn't guarantee 2012 PP is going to work in the same way.

As regards the CD, try accessing the server via UNC, Acronis products aren't too keen on mapped systems.

Did you abort the process when PP was mounting the image ?
I had the same problem with True Image PP 11.
If you did so, reinstall True Image (not the pp) and retry.

I'm having the same problem, I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times but still get the same error.
