Acronis 10 apparently does backup, but error when validating

Thread needs solution

Product not doing validation. Many different messages I don't understand when it baulks on continuing, including "The file is corrupted." What file? Also can't find the volume it's just backed up!

I've fully checked the disks being backed up and backed up to. NO errors of any kind. Because I cannot read the info. that I've sent via the attachment, I am now stuck.

Thankyou!

Where is the backup being made -- local disk, network?

Can you navigate to the backup with windows explorer? If so, what happens when you right click it and select Validate? If not, then something is causing your backup to not be completed.

Thankyou from down here in Aussie-land for your kind and prompt response!

I should have mentioned that I can open the original backups and each backup itself is *apparently* fine, i.e., I can open and view backed up files.

We do a full daily Acronis backup to an external drive which I've fully verified using 4 chkdsk swithes. No errors.

I have now done the right click, archive, validate, and the sad result is in the attached file (each day the *same* message).

"The file is corrupted." What file?

"Click Retry to continue with Volume 26," (which fails). Wot's it?

I haven't yet reinstalled Acronis. Should I do so?

Thanks a lot!
