Acronis 2010 Bootable Recovery media is not bootable!!

Thread needs solution

Hi!

Just upgraded to True image 2010 for my clean install of W7 Pro 32-bit. Generally I am very impressed with the changes since TI11.

One perplexing and concerning thing though I have created two CDs of the bootable recovery media and whilst the process completed successfully both times and there are certainly files on the disk they do not appear to be bootable. I have tried on 2 separate PCs. Of course I have made sure the CD is first in the boot sequence. Both just boot from the HDD. On one system i have also put the TI11 bootable recovery disc into the drive and that booted fine.

It seems something is going wrong in the creation of this "bootable" media.

Hello Jon,

Most probably, the standard Acronis Bootable Media has some issue with the particular hardware configuration, so I may suggest you to use an alternate media based on ISOLINUX bootloader.

ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the website more frequently than regular product updates are released.

ISOLINUX Bootable Media has several boot parameters that may help overcome possible issues with booting. You can also set a specific VGA resolution in the ISOLINUX media if there an issue with the Graphical User Interface (GUI).

Please check the KB article to find information on how to download that bootable media.

Thank you.
